What Happens to Live Discounts When You Change Plans?
When you upgrade or downgrade your plan, your discounts are never deleted. However, the number of discounts you can set as Live depends on your current plan’s limit.
Upgrading Your Plan
When you upgrade:
- All your existing Live discounts remain Live.
- You immediately gain access to the higher Live discount limit included in your new plan.
- You can set additional discounts as Live right away.
No discounts are hidden or removed during an upgrade.
Downgrading Your Plan
If you downgrade to a plan with a lower Live discount limit:
- All discounts remain saved in the app.
- If the number of Live discounts exceeds your new plan’s limit, all discounts will automatically be set to Hidden.
We intentionally do not choose which discounts remain Live, so you stay in full control of which ones should appear on your storefront.
After the downgrade takes effect, you can go to the Manage Discounts page and manually select which discounts to set as Live within your new plan’s limit.
Example
You are currently on a plan that allows 10 Live discounts, and you downgrade to a plan that allows 3 Live discounts.
After the downgrade:
- All discounts will automatically become Hidden
- You can then choose up to 3 discounts to set as Live under your new plan
Tip: Review Your Live Discounts Before Downgrading
Before downgrading your plan, review which discounts you want to keep active.
Reducing the number of Live discounts before changing plans helps avoid unexpected changes to how discounts appear on your storefront.

It’s important to understand the difference between Active and Live discounts:
- Active: A discount that is active in Shopify.
- Live: A discount that is both active in Shopify and set to display on your storefront by the app.
